Portsmouth child rapist jailed for 17 years

Johnathon Oldland was sentenced after being found guilty of multiple rapes and sex assaults against a young girl.

A jury at Portsmouth Crown Court had found him guilty of five charges of rape, two sex assaults, and sexual activity with a child.

The 34-year-old, of Hilsea Market, Hilsea, carried out the abuse for five years.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘This was a particularly horrific case and the sentence has reflected that.

‘We hope that this helps give the victim some closure to move on with their life.’

Oldland was jailed on Thursday.
