Police stop 58 vehicles for speeding across Petersfield, Emsworth and Swanwick amid Christmas warning
Police stopped 58 vehicles for speeding across Petersfield, Emsworth and Swanwick on Tuesday evening.
The drivers were stopped due to exceeding the 30mph speed limit before impairment tests were conducted.
Hampshire Police’s roads unit said 14 drivers were dealt with due to excess speed ranging between 40mph and 58mph in 30mph zones - with five of these drivers now set to receive court summons due to the high speed figures. The rest were given words of advice.
Three drivers registered readings on the alcohol test below the legal limit and were also provided “words of advice”.
