Police issue safety warning after Audi TT and HGV collide on A34 in Hampshire
Officers are trying to work out what happened in Wednesday’s incident - and have issued a reminder to drivers
Police have issued road safety guidance after a collision between an Audi TT and an HGV in Hampshire.
Officers say that the white car and the truck were involved in an incident on a major A-road on Wednesday.
Before the incident, the Audi driver had reportedly pulled to the side of the carriageway and got of of their vehicle.
It happened on the northbound A34 near Whitchurch at about 3.30pm on Wednesday. Nobody was injured.
A police spokesman said: “We would like to remind drivers that if you need to stop your vehicle, if it is safe to do so you should leave the vehicle and move well away from the carriageway.
“If possible you should stand behind a safety barrier, and if one is not available then position yourself in a safe location away from traffic. Avoid standing in front of or directly around your vehicle.”
Police want to hear from anyone who saw what happened - witnesses can call 101 and quote 44260378130. They also issued a plea for dashcam or mobile phone footage that could help inquiries. Information can also be shared by clicking here.
