Police patrols stepped up in Cosham and Paulsgrove following spate of thefts
Officers have stepped up patrols in neighbourhoods in the north of Portsmouth following a spate of thefts.
Police will be actively scouring the streets for criminals in Cosham and Paulsgrove. Teams were out in plain clothes following a rise in reported incidents since Saturday (January 24).
Portsmouth Police issued a statement on Facebook, which said a string of thefts from vehicles, vehicle thefts and pedal-cycle thefts were taking place. Areas that were targeted the most include Deerhurst Crescent, Hawthorn Crescent, Lonsdale Avenue, and Roseberry Avenue.
“We're asking residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activity and keep hold of any CCTV, ring doorbell or dash-cam footage that may help us identify offenders,” police said. “Our patrols will continue over the coming days — both covertly and in high‑visibility uniform — as we focus on tackling vehicle‑related crime and bike thefts across the area.
