Police give update after teenager arrested amid Portsmouth fans clashing with Southampton rivals
Teenager arrested as Portsmouth and Southampton fans clash
Police have given an update after a teenager from Havant was arrested when a group of Portsmouth fans clashed with Southampton fans in London.
The 16-year-old was arrested for a public order offence on Saturday, April 25, at London Waterloo Railway Station after using “threatening and abusive language”, British Transport Police previously said.

A video circulated on social media of a group of Portsmouth fans surrounded by police inside the station while some members of it attempted to confront Southampton fans who were in London for the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.
Police were able to keep the two sets of supporters apart with British Transport Police saying only one arrest was made. The video showed a number of officers tackle one male to the ground during the incident.
Portsmouth fans were on their way back from Stoke-on-Trent where they watched their team pick up a 3-1 win over Stoke in the Championship. While Southampton fans were heading home from the team’s clash with Manchester City at Wembley Stadium where they lost 2-1.
Police have now said the arrested male was released from custody on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
