Clever police dog discovers £5,000 of cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco stashed in wall at Gosport shop
Thousands of pounds worth of hidden cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco have been discovered in the walls of a Gosport shop.
At one of the locations, police dog Ziggy played a vital role in the discovery of multiple ‘hides’ in the wall cavities where £5,000 worth of cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco were found.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: “Good work Ziggy. Checks were completed and reports have been submitted to HMRC and the Home Office with one of the stores soon to be subject of a Closure Order, which a Court has to authorise.
“Selling cheap vapes and cigarettes might be considered ok to some people but there is a direct link between these types of illicit shops to modern slavery and organised crime. This will not be tolerated in our town.”
