Police called to Havant primary school amid 'concerns' over 'gun incident'
Concerns raised after letter from school about “incident”
Parents were left worried when they received a letter from a primary school about an “ongoing incident” - which turned out to be gun-related.

The alarm was raised at Sharps Copse Primary School in Prospect Lane, Havant, following reports a boy had a gun on Wednesday (May 14).
This prompted the school to send out a letter to parents warning them of the worrying turn of events. One mum posted on social media: “Just received a concerning email from the head saying there is an incident but it’s ongoing. Really worrying.”
The News can now reveal the apparent weapon turned out to be a toy gun with a boy spoken to after police went to the school. “We attended Sharps Copse Primary School following a call on 14 May after a toy gun was located in a pupil’s backpack.,” a force spokesperson said.
“Officers attended and spoke with a 10-year-old boy. No further police action is being taken.”
