“It is a nuisance for everyone" - Milton Road Laundrette vandalised by group of teenagers

A laundrette owner has expressed his frustration after the store was vandalised by a group of teenagers.

Pranay Patel owns Milton Road Laundrette in Cowplain and was the victim of vandals after its front door was smashed at around 8.30pm on March 3. The youngsters decided to set up shop in the laundrette with footage showing one trying to get into a machine.

They then blocked the door preventing a friend from entering with a tussle leading to the door being smashed.

Pranay said: “It is a nuisance for everyone, we are banging our head against a brick wall, the kids know they are not meant to be in there but at least respect the premises.

“I’m a firm believer that if you treat people with respect you get it back, we own the Premier next door as well and we have never restricted how many kids can come in and with 95 per cent of the kids there is no issue at all. However, there is a handful up to no good who decide to sit in the laundrette for 5-10 minutes and then obviously this has happened.”
