Keungueu, 25 of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court to one count of facilitating the commission of a breach of UK immigration law by a non-UK national.

The court heard how the man he attempted to smuggle into the country was Vietnamese, and had been concealed in his vehicle when he arrived at the port. The offence was aggravated by being a breach of the National Security Act 2023.

Appearing at Portsmouth Crown Court on Wednesday, July 15, Keungueu was handed his punishment at the hands of Judge William Ashworth.

Judge Ashworth sentenced Keungeu to two years in prison, and ordered him to pay a surcharge of £187.
