Man to appear in court after attempting to engage in sexual communications with child

The police received a report just before 7pm on Sunday, March 29 that a man had been communicating online with a person he believed to be a child in Portsmouth.

As a result, officers attended Somers Road North and arrested Nicholas Starlight, 30, of Britannia Road, Southsea, where he was subsequently charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, March 31).
