Man pleads guilty to raping child under 13 more than ten years after offence

A man has pleaded guilty to raping a child more than ten years ago.

David Niblett took to the dock at Portsmouth Crown Court this morning (June 15) where he pleaded guilty to two counts of rape.

The court heard how the 42-year-old, of Uxbridge Road, Uxbridge, raped a girl under the age of 13 between January 2014 and December 2015.

Judge Adam Feest KC said: “You have pleaded guilty to a very serious offence and only a long prison sentence can be justified.”

Niblett has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on August 14.
