Exclusive:Man accused of rape in Portsmouth city centre tells jury he 'was not forcing' himself upon woman
Kai Dore, 25 from Kiln Drive, Hambrook, denied two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape.
A man on trial for rape vowed that he “was not forcing” a woman to have sex with him.
Kai Dore, 25 from Kiln Drive, Hambrook, was charged with two counts of rape, and one count of attempted rape, and is now on trial for these offences. He has denied them, pleading not guilty to all three counts.
Accusers of sexual offences have a life-long right to anonymity.

An ongoing trial at Portsmouth Crown Court heard how an incident took place in Alec Rose Lane on the evening of February 27 this year, near Portsmouth city centre. A woman, who is not being named, told police that she was raped by Dore, whom she had met earlier that day.
Once the prosecution concluded its evidence today (Wednesday, September 9), Dore went into the witness box for cross-examination.
He said: “I did not commit these offences. I met her that day - she and a friend wanted to go out drinking. We started in Southampton, then got on a train to Portsmouth, drinking throughout.
“She had been flirting with me on the train; she was trying to be close to me, touching my arm, things like that. [In Portsmouth] the other girl had an argument with her about it, then walked off.
“When we got to the alleyway, where I was drunk I’ve fallen against a wall. She came over to me and started kissing me - one thing led to another, from there we then had intercourse.
“I did not drag her, and I was not forcing her.”
The jury was also played bodycam footage from a police officer who was called to the scene, arriving at 6.02pm. The woman, who gave evidence herself earlier in the trial, could be seen leading the officer to the scene, sobbing and hyperventilating throughout.
She said: “Some bloke was around there. I had sex with him but I don’t understand why.
“Is my friend okay? Where is she? I need to speak to her.”
After viewing the bodycam footage, the court was shown CCTV footage from the alleyway. Here, the woman could be seen walking in front of a man, before they became obscured by a canopy, which blocked the camera’s view.
