Joseph ‘Joe’ Stanley, 90, died on February 14 months after the crash on November 28 last year. It happened around 5.10pm along Hampton Lane, near Fawley, and the junctions of Blackfield Road and Exbury Road.

The collision involved a white van and Joe, who was a pedestrian. He was rushed to hospital for treatment following the collision, where he sadly later died.

His family are being supported by specialist officers and have now released the following tribute to him: “Joe was taken far too soon. He will be missed greatly by family and friends.”

Police said: “Officers continue to investigate the collision and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or the events leading up to it, and in particular anyone who has dashcam footage which may assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, using the reference 44250537937.
