Foolish motorbike riders were spotted doing dangerous stunts on a major motorway.
The group of five motorcyclists swerved between lanes on the M3 at speed - doing wheelies along the southbound carriageway between junction 3 and the Winchester services. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said they received reports of the riders stopping traffic between junctions 3 and 4.
Police added that they were doing doughnuts in the carriageway. “Officers located four of the group at Winchester services and three men and a woman were handed fixed penalty notices for number plate offences,” the force said.
“One of the motorcycles, a silver Yamaha, was seized by officers as it had no tax or MOT. We have spoken to several witnesses but we are appealing for anyone with relevant dash cam footage of any of these incidents to please come forward.
“If you have any information or relevant dash cam footage, please call 101 quoting reference number 44240267977.” Reports can also be submitted online via the police website.
