Large emergency service response after bus crash in Portsmouth amid reports of casualty
The area was taped off
A large emergency service response attended a bus crash at The Hard last night (August 17) - with reports of a casualty at the scene.
Around 10 police cars, an ambulance and accident investigation team were reported at the scene around 6pm.

One eyewitness posted on social media that it “didn’t look very good at all” before adding: “Lamppost taken out, a bus half on half off the pavement and someone being treated.”
Another person said: “Most of the road outside The Hard has been taped off. Looks like a bus somehow crashed. (The bus) was in the middle of the road, a bollard seemingly knocked over out the front of the Co-op. All traffic re-routed.”

A Portsmouth City Council statement at the time said: “The road outside the Hard Interchange is currently closed to vehicles while the police investigate a traffic incident that took place this afternoon.
“Buses and taxis are continuing to operate via the interchange - but please allow extra time for your journey if travelling through the area, and take care when crossing the road.”
The area is now believed to have reopened.
Police have been contacted for more details.
