Juneberry: Independent retailer in Lee-on-the-Solent has been targeted by shoplifters
“Thank you to everyone who continues to support small businesses like mine.”
A boutique clothes shop in Lee-on-the-Solent has been targeted by shoplifters, leaving the owner “feeling quite upset”.
Juneberry in Pier Street, which sells ladies fashion, home accessories and gifts, has been the victim of a shoplifting incident this weekend, with an item being stolen from inside the store.

The independent retailer is only a couple of years old, having opened back in 2024.
Posting about the incident on Facebook, owner Debbie Moore said: “Sadly, we had something shoplifted from Juneberry today, and if I’m honest, it’s left me feeling quite upset.
“When you run a small independent shop, every item is chosen carefully, paid for personally, and tied to so much hard work behind the scenes. It’s not ‘just stock’ to us.
“Most days I feel incredibly lucky to have such kind, supportive customers, and I never want posts like this to take away from the lovely community around the shop - but today was a difficult one.
“So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who continues to support small businesses like mine, especially at a time when independent shops are facing so many challenges already.”
To report a theft or shoplifting incident, people can contact the police on 101, or file a report on the police website.
In an emergency, always dial 999.
