Police and immigration enforcement undertook a round of immigration checks on Commercial road yesterday (October 22) under Operation Calebro.

The operation involved conducting appropriate checks, identifying potential safeguarding concerns or offences, and disrupting any unlawful activity.

Individuals working within some businesses may be vulnerable to exploitation, including illegal working, poor working conditions, low or unfair pay, and other forms of labour exploitation.

No offences were identified by the team, but they remain vigilant in preventing modern slavery and immigration crime.
