Havant man jailed after driving on wrong side of A3(M) and hitting cars during police chase
A motorist who diced with death by driving on the wrong side of a busy motorway - sparking a police chase - has been jailed.
Kyle Johnson, 29, of Prospect Lane, Havant, has been imprisoned after admitting his crimes in court. He pleaded guilty to to dangerous driving, failing to stop for Police, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, using a vehicle without insurance, and failing to stop after an accident.

Police spotted a silver Vauxhall Astra at the Rusty Cutter Roundabout on April 3, suspecting that the driver was on the phone. As previously reported in The News, the driver “sped away” and was seen travelling on the wrong side of the A3(M). The car was seen again 20 minutes afterwards in Prospect Lane, Havant, with officers chasing the Astra.
Johnson then drove the vehicle off-road on Tiptoe Green and struck several parked cars in Burghclere Road. The 29-year-old was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court. Johnson has been imprisoned for 12 months and banned from driving for two years and six months.
He will have to take an extended re-test if he wishes to drive again.
