Flames on Southsea school rooftop after suspected arson attack
A Southsea school building was believed to have been set alight by arsonists on Monday evening.

Southsea and Cosham fire crews extinguished the blaze on the roof of a two-storey building at Cumberland Infant School.
Firefighters were called to the school on Methuen Road at around 6pm after flames were seen on the rooftop. “Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters tackled the fire with jets and hose reels,” a fire service spokesperson said.
Prior to leaving the scene at around 8.30pm, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were informed as it was believed to have been set deliberately.
Today, the building has been blocked off with fencing and has scaffolding around it as workers were spotted at the scene.
