Deano Ryan: Portsmouth anti-migrant protestor pleads guilty to violent disorder at Eastney
He will be sentenced next month
A man has admitted a charge of violent disorder following the anti-migrant protest in Eastney on September 6.
Deano Ryan, 22, of All Saints Road, Buckland, was convicted of violent disorder after police uncovered footage of him at the protest, in which he is seen picking up stones from Eastney Point beach and holding them above his head in order to threaten police officers.
He will be sentenced on October 8 in Portsmouth Crown Court and could face a prison sentence.
As he was led away from the dock, a large group of his family and friends were shouting messages of support and began applauding him, and were heard saying "it's a joke".
He will be remanded in custody until his next appearance in court.
The first man arrested over the incident, Del Somerville, 42, of Paulsgrove, pleaded guilty to violent disorder on Wednesday and is expected to be sentenced on September 24 at the crown court.
Another man, Justin Dixon, 50, of Havant, has also pleaded guilty to violent disorder and will also appear at Portsmouth Crown Court for sentencing on October 8.
