Doorstep criminals targeted by police

Arrests were made and vehicles used by criminals were identified as part of Operation Rogue Trader.

Officers visited areas where older or vulnerable people live to give reassurance.

And beat surgeries were held in banks and post offices where victims can be duped by offenders into withdrawing money.

Chief Inspector Dave Winter, from Hampshire Constabulary, said: ‘We’ve visited more than 1,400 people specifically to give advice and reassurance.’
