'Distressing' incident as man pleads guilty after teen wakes to find him holding cable ties in her room
A man has pleaded guilty in court after a ‘distressing’ incident
A Gosport man, who broke into a home and stood over a sleeping 13-year-old while wielding cable ties, has pleaded guilty in court.
Christopher Buxey is due to be sentenced on September 25 at Portsmouth Crown Court after entering a guilty plea of attempted false imprisonment and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence after he broke into a Rogate home last month.
The 42-year-old, of Privett Place, Gosport, was arrested after the teenage girl woke up to find him standing over her bed wearing a balaclava and holding cable ties. The girl’s parents, who are known to Buxey, were able to detain him until police arrived.

Buxey has also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 by penetration, two counts of taking indecent photographs of a child, and three counts of making indecent photographs of a child in connection with a separate investigation in Hampshire.
Detective Chief Inspector Ali Hutchings said: "These were highly distressing ordeals for the victims and their families who are continuing to receive support from specialist trained officers.
"Officers in Sussex and Hampshire have been working tirelessly to collate evidence to bring these cases to court and we now await the sentencing of Buxey after his guilty pleas."
