Detectives given more time to question Southsea rape suspect
DETECTIVES have been given more time to question a rape suspect.
Four men from Portsmouth were arrested after a 19-year-old woman was raped in a Southsea alleyway.
Three men aged 20, 25, and 37, were arrested on suspicion of rape and then released under investigation yesterday.
But a 31-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of rape, remains in custody after detectives were granted permission to hold him longer.

Officers can detain the main until late tonight.
The alleged attack happened in the alleyway between Fisherman's Kitchen and Riva 6 Beauty, Clarendon Road, at around 10pm on Saturday.
Detective Inspector Emma Crute previously said: ‘We are continuing to carry out enquiries and I’m still keen to hear from any residents who may have heard or seen something that could assist our investigation.
‘This incident took place on a busy Saturday night at the start of a Bank Holiday weekend and we believe there would have been a lot of people out and about in the area at the time.’
The woman continues to receive support from specialist officers.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote 44200333243.
Detectives said they are not linking the rape to the serious sexual assault of a 40-year-old woman on Southsea Common on August 3.
