WATCH: Dangerous BMW driver caught on camera comes inches from causing serious crashes
A dangerous driver’s shameful behaviour — caught on camera as he came inches away from causing serious crashes — has led to him being banned from the roads.

The shocking footage, uncovered during a police investigation into anti‑social driving and illegal car meets, shows a black BMW being driven in a way that ‘posed a clear and serious risk to the public’.
William Hoy, of Mowbray Hill, Mortimer, West Berks, forced the car through dangerous manoeuvres while passengers hung out of the windows, and was seen drifting around roundabouts and pedestrians.
The 23‑year‑old pleaded guilty to three counts of dangerous driving and three counts of careless driving, related to incidents at Great Binfields Road, Basingstoke on 11 August 2024, Roman Road Roundabout (A339) Basingstoke on 22 October 2024, Thames Valley Park Drive in Earley on 22 October 2024, and Saxon Way, Yateley on 26 October 2024. Other incidents included Bedford Road, Petersfield on 27 October 2024 and Mill Lane, Alton, on 27 October 2024.
He was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on 8 January and was disqualified from driving for two years, with an extended retest required before he can return to the road. He also received an 18‑month custodial sentence, suspended for two years, alongside a 24‑day rehabilitation activity requirement, 200 hours of unpaid work, and £1,000 in fines and costs.
Police Sergeant James Hall, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “This kind of driving is completely unacceptable. Hoy’s actions put other road users at significant risk, and it’s only by sheer luck that no one was seriously hurt.
“The two‑year driving ban reflects the seriousness of his actions and should act as a clear warning to anyone who thinks they can treat our roads like a playground.
“His driving posed a real risk to the public, and we will continue our work to ensure dangerous drivers like this are swiftly taken off our roads.”
