A “loud bang” was heard as a black car wreaked havoc in Cyprus Road, Fratton, around 8pm on Sunday when colliding with two vehicles and a property. No one was injured.

The house was left damaged with a cracked exterior wall and debris on the pavement as the area was fenced off on Monday. The driver was not arrested.

An eyewitness said a black car was “flying down the road” before there was a “loud bang” after it lost control and crashed.

Another local said: “(The house) is absolutely ruined, the whole side of the house is pushing inwards. I don’t understand how the guy did it, he was on a straight road.

“How can you hit a house on the corner? It’s nuts. I saw the guy sat on the floor. He looked like he was in agony.”

A police spokesperson said: “We were called shortly before 8pm on Sunday (15 February) to reports of a single‑vehicle collision.

“It was reported that a vehicle had collided with two parked cars and subsequently struck a property on Cyprus Road. No injuries were reported.”
