Katrice Lee vanished on her second birthday from a Naafi shop in Paderborn, Germany, on November 28, 1981.

Her father Richard Lee, now 66, was stationed there with the British Army.

Katirce’s mother Sharon and sister Natasha, both of Gosport, have both previously told of their anguish to find the toddler.

'Today I could be sitting here being a grandmother and I know nothing about that,' Sharon said speaking on Crimewatch tonight.

'I've missed my daughter growing up, I've missed her teenage years.

'On Mother's Day I'm always a card short.'

A fresh probe was launched in 2012 with the Royal Military Police’s Operation Bute making a fresh appeal tonight.

The revelation was broadcast on BBC One’s Crimewatch.
