Cordon put in place in Fareham after unexploded bomb handed into police station
Tesco shoppers had to up and leave the store yesterday after an unexploded bomb was handed into the police station opposite, prompting an emergency cordon.
Yesterday afternoon (November 22) at approximately 1.46pm a suspected unexploded bomb was taken into Fareham Police Station, in Quay Street.

As a result, police officers put a 100m cordon in place and the police have confirmed a number of premises were ‘evacuated as a precaution’, including Tesco.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: “The Royal Navy Ordnance Explosive Disposal team attended and took the device away before the cordon was lifted.”
