Closed door contains electric heater fire to bedroom at Hampshire home
A closed door has saved a home in Hampshire after an electric heater sparked a fire in a bedroom over the weekend.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire on Saturday evening (November 29) at 7.30pm at a home in Northam Road, Southampton.

The fire, which was caused by an electric heater, was contained to the bedroom after the occupant closed the door behind them as they evacuated the home.
Smoke and flames were issuing from the ground-floor when crews from St Mary’s and Hightown arrived on scene, and one person was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Firefighters entered the property to extinguish the fire using hose reel jets, before clearing smoke with ventilation fans and conducting a number of home fire safety visits. They left the scene just after 9pm.
