The charity, supports voluntary and community organisations, connects residents to services and builds stronger local communities, and needs people who ‘care deeply’ about the city and can play a meaningful role .

Ven Bob White, chair of the board of trustees, said: ‘Being a HIVE Portsmouth trustee is incredibly rewarding. You’re not just lending your skills to a charity, you’re helping to shape the support available to thousands of people across this city. Whether it’s a family struggling to make ends meet, a volunteer who wants to make a difference, or a small community group trying to get off the ground, HIVE Portsmouth touches all of their lives. The time commitment is manageable, the work is genuinely meaningful, and you’ll be part of a group of people who care deeply about Portsmouth. I’d encourage anyone who has something to offer to get in touch.’

The charity is particularly keen to ensure the board reflects the breadth of the city it serves and all its communities.

Trustees give around six days per year, including attendance at four to six board meetings and occasional strategy sessions. The role is voluntary, with all reasonable expenses reimbursed. Full training and induction is provided.
