'Unhappy' cat who is struggling to settle into Stubbington Ark will 'thrive' in loving and patient home
Are you looking to adopt an adorable cat?
Desmond, the three-year-old cat, is hoping to find a loving home where he can thrive after struggling to settle into a rescue centre.
The Stubbington Ark is on the hunt for a home for the domestic short hair feline after he was taken in by the centre, which accommodates creatures big and small.

Desmond is slowly starting to relax in his temporary home but the transition period has been challenging for him, resulting in the team desperately looking for kind owners who will give the cat a good life.
A spokesperson for the Stubbington Ark said: “Desmond is very unhappy in the cattery environment. In his previous home he was loving and affectionate but sadly he’s clearly not happy here and doesn’t seek out any human companionship. He is looking for a kind and patient home with owners that are prepared to give him all the time and space he needs to settle.
“We hope, given time and being away from a stressful environment, Des will thrive and grow in confidence. Behavioural support will be given by our behaviour team.”
Desmond would benefit from his own unused room at his forever home as he currently finds comfort in his unit at the centre. He finds new surroundings quite scary and daunting, and it is likely that it may take him a while to fully find his feet with his new family.
He should only be given access to the rest of the house once he has fully settled into the environment and will need a private garden.

This adorable cat is looking for an adult only home where he will be the only pet. He has been on medication to help him relax while in the care of the Stubbington Ark. This will be provided for his new home, alongside a plan on how to gradually wean him off of this.
He has been microchipped, fully vaccinated, flea and wormed, and will receive four weeks of free pet insurance which will be included with adoption.
The Stubbington Ark, located in Ranvilles Lane, is an independent animal rescue and rehoming center. For more information about the RSPCA Stubbington Ark, click here.
