'Profound sadness' as Hampshire Air Show cancelled days before event with Montserrat Events going into liquidation
An events company is going into liquidation
Days before hundreds were due to attend a beloved air show, organisers have confirmed the event will no longer take place as the business plunges into liquidation.
Hampshire Air Festival, which was due to happen on September 12 and 13 at Thruxton Aerodrome, has been cancelled after an official statement was released by Montserrat Events & Festivals on Monday, September 7.
The company, which is owned jointly by Jonathan Moore, from Lee-on-the-Solent, and Vaughan Bidewell, is responsible for the aviation event which previously confirmed a lineup featuring T-6J Harvard "Dazzling Debs", the Royal Navy Raiders Parachute and SF-260 Marchetti.

The statement said: “It is with profound sadness that the directors of Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited have to announce the cancellation of the Hampshire Air Festival 2026 due to take place at Thruxton Aerodrome.
“As a consequence, steps are being taken to put the business into liquidation with the Directors taking independent legal and insolvency advice.
“We are grateful to everyone who has supported the Hampshire Air Festival and Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited.”
Ticket holders have been advised to contact their debit or credit card provider directly regarding their ticket purchase and to discuss the options available to them for recovering their payment.
The events company, which has previously organised the Symphoria Experience at Stansted Park, has cancelled all remaining 2026 events.
