Craft tearoom in Wickham A Good Yarn celebrates first birthday by launching collaboration
A knitting tearoom is celebrating its first birthday
Over the course of a year, a tearoom has forged a close-knit community of creatives with the team celebrating its anniversary by launching a collaboration.
A Good Yarn officially opened in Wickham at the end of July last year after owner, Lorraine Foster, traded in her corporate 9 to 5 job to launch her dream knitting tearoom.
Situated in Baytree Walk, the space combines a craft space and a relaxing area where people can enjoy coffee and cake, and the business’s birthday was marked with cake.
Lorraine said: “Our first year has been full of learning, laughter, and community. I’ve met some truly amazing and inspiring people — makers, customers, and supporters who have shaped A Good Yarn into the warm, creative space it has become.”
As the tearoom steps into its second year of trading it is getting ready to embark on a collaboration with The Square Yard which will see two businesses sharing the premises. The partnership will introduce an inspiring collection of unique, handmade pieces from over 30 local independent artisans to the venue.
She added: “We’re excited for this next chapter, welcoming The Square Yard and expanding our workshops, so we can continue to grow and celebrate creativity in Wickham.”
A Good Yarn will continue to offer its popular knitting and crochet classes, while expanding its workshop programme to include a wide range of crafts for adults and families. School holidays will also feature children’s craft sessions, and the newly launched “Crafty Party” will provide fun, creative birthday parties for children who love to make.
