Hampshire housebuilder reveals resilient H1 performance

Hampshire housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes showed a resilient first-half performance despite a weak housing market, according to its latest results.
Barratt David Wilson Homes, is currently building Pebble Walk on Hayling Island and Forest Walk in Whiteley, revealed home completions across the group rose by 4.7% to 7,444 during the 26 weeks to 28th December 2025
Operating profit was broadly flat year on year during the same period and statutory profit before tax improved due to lower one-off integration and transaction costs.
The housebuilder, which merged with Redrow in 2024, revealed that integration was progressing well, delivering in line with the Group’s £100m cost synergy target and strong progress on revenue synergy sites through planning. The group maintains a strong balance sheet with £173.9m net cash and solid forward sales.
Operationally, reservation rates were stable and the company continues to lead the sector in build quality, customer satisfaction and sustainability. Trading since the period end has been steady, with forward sales slightly higher year on year.
Looking ahead, Barratt Redrow expects FY26 home completions of 17,200–17,800, in line with previous guidance, with full-year profits expected to fall within current market expectations, though performance remains dependent on spring selling conditions and a supportive demand environment.
Commenting on the interim results, Matt Paine, Managing Director at Barratt David Wilson Homes, said:
“During the first half we delivered a resilient performance in a subdued market while making strong progress integrating Redrow. As that integration nears completion, our focus is on disciplined execution. We are embedding our proven operating model across the enlarged group, delivering operational excellence, strengthening efficiency, and positioning Barratt Redrow to deliver volume growth, margin progression, and capital returns through the cycle.
“With a strong land bank, solid forward sales and synergy delivery in line with our targets, we are well positioned to deliver sustainable medium-term growth. However, while progress made on planning reform is encouraging, a stable and supportive demand environment is essential to enable increased delivery at scale across the sector.”
