A new café bar has opened in Whiteley promising a relaxed dining experience that will be a home away from home for its guest.

The Amparo Lounge opened in the shopping centre on Wednesday, June 17 with an all day menu that offers and extensive range of options.

The eatery has taken over the old Frankie & Benny’s site in the shopping centre and transformed it with patterned wallpapers, murals, colourful tiling, oversized vintage sofas and upholstered lounge chairs all featuring along with an eclectic mix of artwork.

Owned by Loungers, a West Country café-bar group, Amparo Lounge is open from morning through to late evening with an all-day menu. From coffee to brunch and relaxed dinner and drinks, the eatery promises to be a warm laid-back space which can be a home-from-home for customers.

Hannah, an operations manager for Loungers, said: “Whiteley is a really good area for us to be in. We love to be in a space where community is the hub of what we do. Although we serve good food and good drinks we really care about the people and that is why we do it. We are excited to bring that here.

“The food menu is served all day no matter what it is, so you could be having breakfast at nine o’clock at night with a cocktail or a burger for breakfast if you fancy with a coffee. We have a lot of fresh ingredients in our menu and can chop and change things easily for our guests.”

The menu features everything from brunch, tapas, toasties and salads to burgers, tacos, noodles and fried chicken. It also has a dedicated vegan and gluten‑free menus to ensure guests with dietary requirements have plenty of choice.

Mia Gordon, centre director at Whiteley, said: “It’s a brilliant addition to our growing food and drink offer and we’ve no doubt it’ll be a hit with visitors of all ages.

“Whether people are stopping for breakfast before shopping, meeting friends for lunch or winding down with dinner and drinks, Amparo Lounge will add another great reason to spend time at Whiteley and enjoy everything the centre has to offer.”

Amparo Lounge joins a number of Loungers eateries in the area including the Panero Lounge in Southsea, the Vito Lounge in Fareham, and the Clavio Lounge in Petersfield.
