Celebrations as 'long overdue' six fugure refurbishment is completed as The Green Posts reopens

Smiles all round as a boozer reopens following a ‘long overdue’ six figure refurbishment.

Greene King pub, The Green Posts, in London Road, has officially reopened today (November 14), after being closed for the last few weeks for a major six figure refurbishment.

George Skeates, general manager, said: “It was long overdue - beforehand many people would have come in and seen the state that it was in but it has so much potential so now there is finally the chance to realise that potential here.

“It’s all been going well. We’ve had a lot of builders doing a lot of work in here - we’ve had a bit of a layout change and we’ve got a whole new sport area, so we’ve got bigger tv’s and we’ve got a bigger dedicated area for the pool table.”

A ribbon cutting marked the occasion, alongside a full weekend programme of entertainment including live music and a meat raffle.
