Crowds snaked around the new Burger King in Gosport ahead of its opening where 1,000 burgers were being given away.
The fast food restaurant opened its new branch in Fareham Trade Park on Friday, August 14 offering a dine-in and drive through option. The opening drew a crowd with vouchers for free burgers being given out throughout the day.
The first customer, Taylor Berry, 21, arrived at around 8am, two hours ahead of the doors opening for the first time.
He said: “I am absolutely hyped, we have not had a Burger King in Gosport for years.”
As well as vouchers for burger being given away, Grace Williams was the lucky 100th customer who was given a year’s supply of Burger King.
Ahead of the opening the restaurant manager Charlie said: “My team and I can't wait to welcome everyone through our doors and become part of the Fareham community. We're excited to celebrate the opening by giving away 1,000 of our iconic burgers and welcoming both new and loyal Burger King fans to our brand-new restaurant."
The new restaurant has created 25 new jobs in the area and has been fitted with 50 solar panels, which are estimated to generate 23,943 kWh of renewable electricity annually.
