'We are really proud': Couple turn dream into reality by opening second bakery in Gosport

Tamas Konkoly and Angela Balla have spent the last four years tirelessly creating the foundations of their bakery business - BEK Sourdough Bakery - which has now opened its second venue in Gosport.

The couple, who moved to the UK ten years ago, have always wanted to open a bakery, and their relocation was the perfect opportunity to turn that dream into a reality.

BEK Sourdough Bakery opened its first store in Southampton at the start of this year, and the pair have been working round the clock over the last couple of months to get their new site ready.

The latest store, located in Gosport High Street, opened its doors on Sunday, November 9 - and it went down a treat with locals.

Tamas said: “We are really proud to be here - we will be making sourdough bread and handmade pastries.

“A lot of people turned up before the opening time because they wanted to make sure they got what they wanted.

“It was one of our dreams to establish a bakery so we worked hard for four years, seven days a week, to make it work, and it’s a great feeling when you see the customers and you get to make someone’s day.”
