Burger King in Havant could open its drive-thru 24-hours on weekends as council to vote on application tonight
A proposal to allow Burger King to be open 24-hours on weekends could be voted through by the council this evening.
The fast food giant has submitted an application to Havant Borough Council, to extend the opening hours of the venue at the junction of Park Road South and Solent Road.
As it stands, Burger King in Havant is open from 9am-12am each day, with takeaway orders closing at 11pm.

Under the new proposals, the restaurant would be open internally from 5am-12am, but the drive through hours would be significantly extended. Burger King’s plan is to be open from 5am-2am from Monday to Thursday, and opening 24-hours from Friday to Sunday.
Councillors have been recommended to grant temporary permission for the application - and will meet tonight (Thursday, February 12) to make their decision.
An executive summary of the application reads: “As the site is in the Town Centre and built up area there is no objection in principle to extending the opening hours of the site. It is recognised however that the area is mixed in terms of uses, with retail and restaurant outlets together with residential properties to the east and north-east of the site including Dolphin Court and flats at South Park Court.
“With regards to the impact on the character and appearance of the area as there would be no changes to the building or the layout of the site the main consideration would be the traffic overnight.
“Given the location of the site at a busy road junction it is not anticipated that the proposed extended opening hours are likely to negatively impact the nearest residents as a result of increased vehicle movements but this needs to be tested fully and a temporary consent is recommended which would allow for a further assessment after a year of operation.”
