"We are doing something that Gosport doesn't have" - award winning kebab van The Boss Kebab to open new truck in Gosport
An award winning kebab van is opening in Gosport as it brings the ingredients that made it a success in Wickham to a new location.
The Boss Kebab was voted Kebab Van of the Year at the British Kebab Awards in 2024 and was once again a finalist in 2025. The eatery, run by Siyami Er, will now be opening a new van in Wingate Road next to The Range serving the kebabs that has made the company such a success.
The van will be opening on Tuesday, November 18 with half price on all food for the first three days (collection only). Siyami had previously run a van from the same spot which served breakfast and burgers but that closed earlier this year.
A number of customers travel to Wickham for their kebab fix, which gave Siyami the idea of opening nearer to them. He said: “We get roughly 50 or 60 families from Gosport coming to the Wickham once a week. They travel all the way from Gosport to Wickham for our kebabs and they were saying ‘please open one in Gosport’.
“That showed me that we are doing something that the kebab shops in Gosport are not doing, whether it tastes better or the service is better. That is what people are telling me ‘what we get here we don't get in Gosport’.”
He said: “I'm bringing the same tastes that we have in Wickham to Gosport. We have proven ourselves by winning the national title and people know us through word of mouth. We are excited to bring that to Gosport.”
