Sunny told the News that he was inspired by TikTok sensation SpudBros to launch the franchise. He said: “You can see the hype and the chaos and the vibes, everything is buzzing and it’s been really, really good.
“We are just normal people, we are here to open a business that was closed for six years, taken on 40 people to create a fantastic team - I’d like to think we’ve livened up this whole corner of Commercial Road and we just want everyone to come.”
The SpudBros’ journey started back in 1955, when a hot-potato cart first opened on Preston’s Flag Market. But decades on and brothers, Jacob and Harley Nelson, have transformed the family tradition into one of the most recognisable food brands across the country.
The duo attended the launch of the new site and helped dish out 100 free jacket potatoes to celebrate.
Jacob said: “We’re buzzing to be here. It’s good for everybody. Everyone is talking about it which what we are all about - making more noise, more posts and selling more potatoes.”
