From Joanna’s to Ritzy to Tiger Tiger, plenty of iconic venues have closed down over the years – with Pryzm being the most recent venue added to the list after closing last year.
The city has no doubt been home to some absolutely sensational venues and The News has decided to look back at some of most historic and iconic clubs in the city that cease to exist.
Here are 17 nightclubs that have shut over the years:

9. Walkabout
Walkabout used to call Guildhall Walk home and was a popular spot for nights out - as well as to watch sports. Picture: Michael Scaddan (083087-0054) Photo: Michael Scaddan

10. The Savoy
During the 1950s the Savoy's ballroom was a popular place to dance the night away. It later became a nightclub. Sadly the building has since been knocked down. Photo: Will Caddy

11. Route 66
Known as Route 66 and then Pure, this is one of the venues our readers want to make a comeback. Photo: Sarah Standing

12. Time and Envy
Once located in the Savoy Building on South Parade in Southsea. Time and Envy is another of the iconic nightlife venues that Portsmouth has lost. Photo: Michael Scaddan
