HMS Havant - a Dunkirk heroine | Nostalgia
In the main photograph are some of the ship’s company from the destroyer HMS Havant.
In the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940 she rescued more than 2,300 men.

She eventually succumbed to Stuka dive bombers and was so badly damaged she was scuttled by the minesweeper HMS Saltash. Eight sailors died plus 25 soldiers.
