‘He seems to think that you may have appealed for photos such as this. He had misplaced them and had been going out of his mind trying to find them for you.

‘With the VE Day celebrations on Friday, my grandad’s road, Keswick Avenue in Copnor, will be having front garden street parties, which a group of us have organised, with social distancing of course.’

Ricki adds: ‘My grandad has lived in Keswick Avenue since the Second World War after being bombed out of the house he lived in down at Wingfield Street in Portsmouth.

‘He’s been here in Keswick Avenue for 79 years and is the oldest resident down the avenue.

‘He is also the only remaining resident who has been here since the Second World War,’ says Ricki.
