Going to the dogs - Portsmouth's greyhound track remembered | Nostalgia

The greyhound stadium at Tipner, Portsmouth, was built in 1930 east of Tipner Lane on the site of Stamshaw Chemical Works.

A new, larger track was opened on May 25, 1931, in Target Road.

The last meeting was on March 27, 2010, and the stadium was demolished in 2012.

Many of the 28 pictures in this gallery were taken by News photographer, the late Michael Scaddan – the stadium pictures in 2001 and the aerial shot two years earlier.
