Portsmouth fire station makes beautiful tribute to city's hard-working NHS staff
FIREFIGHTERS made an emotional tribute to frontline NHS staff last night.
Staff at Cosham Fire Station, based just around the corner from Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, decorated their windows to showcase the NHS logo from all sides of the tower.
Hospital workers are battling through overtime and cancelled leave to combat the spread of the virus in the city.

Mark Chapman, chairman of Hampshire Fire Brigade Union, said: ‘Cosham Fire Station is on one of the main routes to QA Hospital – ambulances pass the station every day.
‘The coronavirus places such a burden on those who work in the NHS and we wanted them to know that we are grateful for everything they do.
‘By doing this they can see that we are thinking of them every time they pass. Cosham firefighters have big hearts and I am very proud to work with people who are willing to make such a kind-hearted gesture.
