'Outstanding' Waterlooville care home staff achieve national recognition with award shortlisting
COMMITMENT, passion and hard work have got care home workers from Waterlooville shortlisted for an award.
Three members of staff at luxury care home Wellington Vale have been selected as finalists in two different awards ceremonies.
Breda O’Doherty, Helen Dunning and Katie-Marie Percival are all set to be nationally recognised for their talents.

Sandy Atkins, general manager at Wellington Vale, said: ‘We have an incredibly committed team at Wellington Vale, with so much passion and enthusiasm for making Wellington Vale a special place for our residents, and, in particular, catering to their individual needs.’
Activities co-ordinator Breda O’Doherty has been shortlisted for The Rising Star Award in the Women Achieving Greatness Awards.
The accolade recognises women in the early stages of their career who demonstrate leadership, innovation and have the potential to go far in the industry.
Helen Dunning, a home admissions advisor, is a finalist in the British Care Awards for The Putting People First/Personalisation Awards.

This recognises people who show an innovative approach to empowering residents to have more control over the support they receive.
Wellington Vale’s Chef, Katie-Marie Percival, is also a finalist in the British Care Awards.
The Care Home Cook/Chef Award honours those who have a ‘whole home’ approach to food and nutrition, providing a wide and varied menu, promoting healthy food choices, and caters for residents with specialist dietary requirements.
Women Achieving Greatness Awards will be announced on November 30, and the British Care Awards taking place on November 18.
Ms Atkins added: ‘We have always known that Breda, Helen and Katie-Marie are outstanding.
‘They all thoroughly deserve the recognition they are gaining through these national accolades.’
