A leisure centre in Waterlooville has revealed details of a refurbishment that will provide a new “training experience” for its members.
Horizon Leisure on Waterberry Drive will be closing its gym for two weeks as it undergoes a rebuild to give the facilities a modern overhaul.
A Horizon spokesperson said: “This summer, we’re transforming the gym across all three floors to create a completely new training experience. This isn’t a small update or a few new pieces of kit. It’s a full rebuild of the space, designed to give you more choice, better flow, and a gym that feels as good as it performs.”
Work will begin in the summer with a full redesign of the space including new flooring, lighting, sound and overall look and feel. This will include brand new cardio equipment being installed on the mid floor, a full strength upgrade on the bottom floor, and a refreshed free weights area with new racks and layout.
There will also be a new 10 metre sprint track on the top floor along with self-powered cardio and functional equipment, a dedicated glute training zone.
The Horizon spokesperson added: “Everything has been planned to make the gym easier to use, more enjoyable to train in, and better suited to how our members actually move. It’s also about creating a gym that works for everyone, whether you’re building strength, improving fitness, or just finding your way back into a routine.”
During the closure the rest of the facilities at the leisure centre will be open with gym goers given the option of using the gym at the Horizon in Havant.
The exact dates of the refurbishment have not yet been confirmed but Horizon have released pictures of what the gym will look like when complete:
