Hampshire's GP surgeries with the most helpful receptionists revealed

Hampshire GP’s with 'very helpful' receptionists

Hampshire patients have had their say on how their GP receptionists are performing.

The latest GP Patient Survey, conducted by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England, provides a snapshot of patient experiences across the country, with more than 700,000 people taking part.

Carried out between January and March 2025, the survey gathers feedback on a range of aspects of local GP services, including the ease of contacting a surgery by phone, website or the NHS App, the helpfulness of reception staff, and the quality of care and treatment received.

Reception and administrative teams play a key role in GP practices and are often the first point of contact for patients. As part of the survey, respondents were asked to rate the helpfulness of their surgery's reception and administrative team as "very helpful", "fairly helpful", "not very helpful" or "not at all helpful".

The GP Patient Survey is sent to more than two million patients registered with NHS practices in England every January, with the most recent study marking the twentieth year it has been carried out.

The purpose of the survey is to understand strengths and weaknesses within the NHS. The latest fugures comes in the wake of an investigation completed by Lord Darzi who said the healthcare system is in a ‘critical condition.’

As a result, a 10-year health plan for England has been published to make extensive upgrades to crack down on waiting lists, improve staff moral and ensure patients are able to get appointments with their GP and dental care.
