Hovertravel offer to honour Wightlink travel tickets for passengers needing to travel to and from the Isle of Wight
HOVERTRAVEL has said it will honour crossing tickets already purchased for the Wightlink ferry with no extra charge to customers.
On Wednesday, Wightlink announced its Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Fast Cat foot passenger service wilL be suspended with the last sailing on Monday April 6. To limit the potential spread of covid-19, the service to Fishbourne has also been reduced to a two hourly service.
However, with some commuters unable to work from home and still having to travel to the mainland, Hovertravel has said it is ‘accepting all ticket types, including the Fast Cat service’.
A statement on the company’s website said: ‘We are here at Hovertravel to help you as we all face challenging times and we are working together with Wightlink to keep a fast ferry option to and from the Isle of Wight for those who need to travel.

‘There is no additional cost to any customer using their Wightlink ticket to travel on Hovertravel.’
Customers with business and multilink passes as well as season tickets and period returns can all now use the Hovertravel service.
