FIREFIGHTERS have showed their love and appreciation for staff at the city’s hospital with a heart made from equipment they use on a day-to-day basis.

Green Watch at Cosham Fire Station made a heart with a fire hose and spelled out QA and NHS to show solidarity with the staff who are currently dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak.

‘We made the words with equipment from the appliance and that took us about 10 minutes but it took us about 30 minutes to make the heart look right and we had someone stood at the top telling us where we needed to put it but in the end it looked great.’

Staff at Queen Alexandra Hospital have been left overwhelmed with the response from their community and local businesses who have donated to them.

More than 50 pizzas were delivered from Four London Road in Horndean, cakes from the Tenth Hole in Southsea were devoured and more than 50 buckets of chicken and beans from KFC and over 50 boxes of McDonald’s chicken nuggets were also appreciated by staff.
